What’s Your Passion for Compassion?

Each of us knows that feeling.  When something hits you so hard you just well up on the inside (maybe even the outside too).  When a story makes an impact.   When you know your heart, your heart in particular wants to do something to make a difference.  It’s the way God has made you.  It’s your passion.  It’s compassion.

At the Sanctuary, we want to help you live that out.  So beginning this month, we will be rotating on a monthly basis different opportunities to leave comfort for compassion.  Whether it be building friendships with refugees, helping someone who is ill with their yard work, working a food pantry, or visiting those in a nursing home, we invite you to come out for your area of passion.

If you don’t see an area that burdens your heart, feel free to email me or include it in the comments below.  It is our desire to have events that express the way God has uniquely made our community.  Otherwise, more details will be forthcoming in the follwing areas:

tending the garden

caring for the elderly

feeding the hungry

welcoming the stranger

April- Spring clean-up of our parks

May- Nursing Home Visit

June- World Relief Refugee Picnic

July- Food Pantry

Aug- Family Fun Fest/Backpack Drive

Sept- Nursing Home Visit

Oct- Fall Clean-up for those in need of assistance

May we continue to answer the call of expressing God’s love and compassion while making this world look more like the one He intended.
Peace,

Cheryl Lynn Cain
