Catch the wave on Sunday!
Every morning this week The Sanctuary has been flooded with over 100 excited children as they have experienced “Ocean Commotion,” our summer VBS program! They have learned interesting facts (did you know that Noah was 600 years old when he completed the ark?), done science experiments and crafts and participated in fun water games. They have also learned more about our amazing God through Bible stories and songs. Make sure you catch the wave and join us Sunday morning at 9:30 and 11 a.m. as the children from VBS share their favorite songs on stage!
BENEVOLENCE OFFERING
We will be taking a benevolence offering at the end of service Sunday. This is a special offering that goes directly to help those in our church body who have a financial need. Please look for the ushers as you leave the auditorium.
MORNINGSTAR MISSION
If you are looking for an easy and meaningful way to serve in our community, sign up to partner with Morningstar Mission. We have the opportunity to help serve lunch to those without homes on Aug. 11 and Aug. 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. Sign up at the Info Table.
THE SANCTUARY HAS ADOPTED!
We’re excited to take the next step in coming alongside students in our community by joining Christian organization Kids Hope USA to adopt Irene King Elementary School in the Valley View School District. Whether you have been looking for a way to be more intentional with your daytime hours in this season of life or are interested in donating school supplies this year, plan on attending an info meeting and “shower” on Aug. 20 after second service. Check out the Target registry and Toys R Us wish list (under Irene King) to find ways you can help shower our school. For more info, contact Deb Ebenroth at [email protected].
SUPPORTING OUR MISSIONS TEAMS
There are several opportunities in the next few months to support our short term missions teams. Check out the different ways you can participate:
PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT
Drop off your children for dinner and activities and enjoy a date night! Babysitting will be provided at The Sanctuary Aug. 19 and Sept. 16 from 6-8:30 p.m. Cost is $20 for the first child or $30 for more than one child in a family. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend. Additional dates offered are Aug. 19 and Sept. 16.
GIVING TILE BOARD
Visit the Giving Tile boards located in the lobby and choose a numbered tile that corresponds with the amount you would like to give. The teams appreciate donations in any amount, large or small!
SHOE DRIVE
Collect and donate gently used shoes as we partner with Midwest Shoe Recyclers for those in need both nationally and globally. We accept men’s, women’s and kids’ tennis shoes, cleats, and dress/casual shoes. Please no boots, high heels or shoes with worn soles or holes. Get your neighborhoods involved! Bring your donations to the bucket at the Info Table during the month of August. Our missions team receives money for each pound of shoes donated.
