Exciting summer events for youth!
If you have students in junior high or high school, they will have a blast this summer with Thrive and Crossfire! We don’t want you to miss these important events coming up:
ALL IN: The summer kick-off begins on June 6 by serving at Power Connections Food Pantry, followed by an evening of celebration at the church. Meet at Power Connection, 999 Remington Blvd., at 4 p.m. We’ll head back to the church at 6 p.m. for food, games and fun!
SCHOOL PRAY: Continuing the theme of “Loving the World,” there will be opportunities to pray for area schools after second service on June 5, June 26, July 3 and July 24. Before going out, we will meet in the Green Room to share refreshments and learn what prayer is and how God uses it. All students, parents, grandparents, families, uncles, spiritual parents — i.e., the entire church community — is invited.
DISCOVER CAMP: Whether you love photography, writing, music, art, design, cooking or working behind the scenes, you don’t want to miss discover, a summer camp just for junior high and high school students at The Sanctuary. Each day will include worship, teaching, hang-out time, snack and workshops to help you learn more about your creative gifts. Sign up here. https://cometothesanctuary.org/youth/
MICHIGAN DUNES: Save the date for an exciting day trip to the Michigan Dunes on June 25! Look for more details coming to your email soon!
* There will be NO youth group this Monday due to the Memorial Day holiday!
LUNCH WITH THE PASTORS
If you are new to The Sanctuary, make plans to join us for Lunch with the Pastors right after second service on June 5. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our mission and vision, get to know Pastor Ronn and Pastor John and, of course, enjoy lunch together. Childcare will be provided. Sign up at the Info Table if you plan to attend.
GO GROUPS MEETING
As we wrap up our “Sent” series the next few weeks, we want to start to ask ourselves what it means to be “sent” right where we are living. What could that look like in practical terms? What are the next steps in living a “sent” life? These are some of the topics that will be covered at a “Go Groups” info meeting on June 12. Sign up at the Info Table if you would like to attend the meeting, which will include lunch. The meeting will begin at 12:30 in the Community Room.
VBS
Calling all kids in preschool through fifth grade! Join us in ancient Egypt July 11-15. You’ll explore Pharaoh’s palace, experience thrilling “real-life” dramas, play high-energy games, sample tasty snacks, and hear unforgettable music. Plus, you’ll meet lots of new friends! Join us for Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to Noon each day, but sign up soon! We have limited space available for 100 kids. Sanctuary families can register beginning today. Registration will open to friends outside our church beginning May 29. Cost is $10. Grab a registration card at the Info Table or go to cometothesanctuary.org/vbs.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY
Ladies, please plan on attending a summer weekly Bible Study, where a new topic will be discussed each week. Come as often as you can from 9:30 to 11 on Fridays starting June 3 to Emily Sault’s house at 941 Canyon Run Rd., Naperville. Childcare will be provided for a nominal fee. For more information and to sign up, please email or call 630-209-4915.
FIGHT CLUB
Some of the most noted, celebrated and godly men in the Bible made some very big mistakes when it came to raising their children. Bad Dads of the Bible examines these mistakes and gives today’s dads much needed advice on how to avoid them, or repair damage that might already have been done. Between teaching and group discussion, men will tackle this topic together in the next four sessions. Fight Club meets every other Saturday at 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. The next Fight Club is May 28.
