Thanksgiving-Theme

Happy Thanksgiving! We hope over the holiday weekend you are able to take time with family, friends or in solitude to reflect on all the many blessings God has showered on you over the past year!

Then, on Sunday, join us as we finish our “Together” sermon series. If you missed last Sunday, you will have the opportunity to make your two-year Together commitment. You can get more details about the generosity portion of Together here.

CHRISTMAS SERMON SERIES
Most people have heard the story of Christmas: The virgin birth. A baby born in a manger. Shepherds who came to visit.

But the story actually began much earlier. It started in a garden that was a place of perfect peace and relationship. That peace and our relationships were shattered when sin entered the world. For generations, humanity told tales of a coming Messiah who would restore what was lost. Throughout all the pages of the Bible, Jesus’ fingerprints are seen, and His name is whispered. Many missed it then, just as they do today.

Come experience those Whispers of Hope this Christmas season, as we search for the One who was and is to come.

CHILD DEDICATION
We will have Child Dedication during the worship services on Dec. 3. If you would like to have your child dedicated to the Lord, sign up at the Info Table for the 9:30 or 11 a.m. service and plan to come to the child dedication class offered during second service Sunday in the Green Room.

WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS TEA
Christmas is a time of parties, presents and good cheer. But how do you approach Christmas if you are walking through a dark time in life? Experience the hope that can be found in Christ at this year’s Women’s Link Christmas tea. Terri DeVries, author of “On the Way Home,” will be sharing her personal journey through grief after the sudden death of her husband. Enjoy a catered dinner and a relaxing evening with friends from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 8. Bring a friend! Cost is $15. Register in the lobby or online.

CHRISTMAS AT THE CLINIC
Share the joy of Christmas by donating new gifts to the Bolingbrook Christian Health Center. Items are needed for ages 1 to 18 and will be collected at the Info Table. Gifts will be distributed on Dec. 10 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. as we join Gente Unida and The Compass Church in a bilingual service, dinner and a gift mart for those in need in our community, as well as a craft and game time for kids. Sign up at the Info Table to volunteer.

THE FIGHT CLUB
This fall, men will dive into a study, called, “Play the Man.” Somewhere along the way, our culture lost its definition of manhood, leaving generations of men and men-to-be confused about their roles, responsibilities, relationships, and the reason God made them men. The Fight Club meets 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. Dec. 2, 16.

BAPTISM
Due to a scheduling conflict, we have changed the date of our baptism service to Dec. 17. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and you would like to be baptized, plan to participate in one of our regular morning worship services at 9:30 or 11 a.m. A baptism class will be offered during first service on Dec. 3 in the Green Room. Please sign up at the Info Table.

CHRISTMAS SERVICES
Our Eve of Christmas Eve service will be held Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. and will be identical to our Sunday morning service on Dec. 24 at 10 a.m. We are looking forward to celebrating Christ’s birth with you!

TURKEY BOWL
Make plans to cheer on The Sanctuary’s junior high and high school students at this year’s Turkey Bowl! Games are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 1303 Muirhead Ave, Naperville. Bring a chair, blanket and some hot chocolate, along with your team spirit!

JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL
Our junior high and high school ministries meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays for student-led worship, large group teaching, small group discussion and tons of FUN! Feel free to arrive at 6:30 for hangout time.

YOUNG ADULTS
Our college and young adult group meets in the Community Room Sunday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m. (with the exception of the last Sunday of the month). New people are always welcome! Contact Rebecca at 815.980.0127 with questions.
