What I do: Worship Arts Director
Favorite part of my job: Coming up with creative ways to help God’s people engage in authentic worship.
Little known fact: I ran cross country and track on scholarship my first year in college. I can barely run 2 miles without walking now…
I’d rather be: at Starbucks drinking Nitro Cold Brew. Preferably outdoors. 76 degrees. Light breeze.
Ben has been the Worship Arts Director since August of 2017.
Ben knew he wanted to do music, whether CCM or worship because of the way it had such a transforming power in his life at a young age. His desire has always been to point people to the same peace and hope that he found in Jesus through musical expressions.
Ben grew up in Bloomington/Normal and moved to the suburbs to study worship arts at Judson University in Elgin, IL. During his time there, he had several worship leadership experiences. He worked at a small church in Aurora called First Christian Church for just under a year, volunteered in several ministries at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, and finally began to work at Christ Community Church based in St. Charles where he was contracted as a worship leader at the three different satellite campuses, still leads worship for two ministries at the church, 20s night and Singles 30+, and had his formal 120 hour internship. In addition to this, Ben took part in several touring experiences. Ben had the opportunity to sit in and travel with two different bands that are based out of Judson University, Mass Anthem and Graveyards to Gardens. Ben also toured across the country with a well-known CCM band, Remedy Drive. Ben feels that at this season in his life, the local church is where God is calling him to be. The Sanctuary is the perfect fit for him.
