SOUP FOR THE SOUL

Ladies, come get refreshed both spiritually and physically with a warm bowl of soup and some Soup for the Soul. The evening will include a testimonial talk about letting go of control, prayer time and a soup-themed potluck at this Women’s Link event, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 24.

HELP FOR THE REIMERS

Thank you so much for your prayers for the Reimer family the past week. Bill ruptured both of his patellar tendons and underwent surgery last week. He won’t be able to bend his knees for six weeks while he goes through physical therapy and occupational therapy. If you are able to provide a meal for the Reimer family, please sign up through TakeThemAMeal.com. Search for recipient name: Reimer and password: Billy. The injury is also impacting them financially. If you can help by providing a gift card to Meijer or Walmart, it would be greatly appreciated. BAPTISM
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and you would like to be baptized, plan to participate in one of our regular morning worship services at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Nov. 8. A baptism class will be offered at SURGE on Oct. 14 in the Community Room to prepare you for the service. Please sign up at the Info Table to participate.

SURGE

As we strive to Build Homes of Faith, we want to encourage you to attend Surge the second Wednesday of every month. This is an awesome evening for our entire church body to gather for worship and break-out sessions designed to help you grow in your walk with God. Choose from sessions on topics like living in the spiritual disciplines, living in reconciliation, living in financial freedom and living in the traditions. You also will hear ministry updates and testimony. The next Surge is 7 p.m. Nov. 11.

LUNCH WITH THE PASTORS

If you are new to The Sanctuary, make plans to join us for Lunch with the Pastors right after second service on Nov. 22. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our mission and vision, get to know Pastor Ronn and Pastor John and, of course, enjoy lunch together. Childcare will be provided. HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Hope for the Holidays, our annual fair trade holiday bazaar is coming 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 20 and  10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 21! Make plans to shop with a purpose when you give a gift that gives twice! Proceeds from the event go to help artisan families living in third world countries. The event will include live music, plus a coffee bar from Mojo Express Friday evening (Nov. 20) and the chance to experience some new food options from food trucks, including Cupcakes for Courage, arriving on Saturday (Nov. 21). MISSIONS NIGHT

Join the Missions Team at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 to spend time with Richmond Wandera, a pastor from Uganda, and learn more about his ministry, Pastors Discipleship Network. Last year, we interviewed Richmond during our services and took a special offering for PDN. Richmond will update us on how his ministry used the finances provided by our church, what is happening at PDN, and the ministry’s plans for the future. There will also be a Q & A time. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

MEN’S MINISTRY

Men of The Sanctuary are invited to a video series and discussion called, “FIGHT”, which looks at the life of Samson, every other Saturday at 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. The next Fight Club date is this Saturday. For more info, contact Bryan Buckley: .

PLAYGROUP

Hey, moms! Would you like to connect with other moms of young children? Would your children like to make some new friends? Join us for play group from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. every other Thursday. The next playgroup date is Oct. 29 at Village Green Park, 24121 W. Chicago St., Plainfield. In the event of rain, location will change to the Preschool Place room at The Sanctuary.

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS

Thrive and Crossfire, our junior high and high school ministries, meet Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for student-led worship, large group teaching, small group discussion and tons of FUN! Feel free to arrive at 6:30 for hang out time.

Both Thrive and Crossfire will practice every Sunday through Nov. 22 for a co-ed football tournament the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Pack a lunch and come dressed for practice from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at Freedom Park, 1600 Park Place, Bolingbrook. Students who don’t want to play can still come and watch!
