The reptile show will begin at 5:15, and the movie will start at 7 p.m. We’ll have pumpkin decorating, candy, inflatables, games and more! Feel free to wear costumes and be sure to invite your friends and neighbors.
MEN’S RETREAT
Men, if you are planning to attend the men’s retreat, please e-mail by Friday to let him know. The Sanctuary is joining Hope Free Church for a weekend of spiritual growth and fellowship at the Man Up! conference in Roscoe, IL, Nov. 1-2. The Man Up! conference is designed to challenge men to rise up to the call to be disciplined in their relationship with Christ, in their marriages, as fathers, in service to the church and at work. Cost is $15 for the retreat, plus about $45 per person for hotel. The conference includes breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
NEW MEMBER WEBSITE
We have recently changed our online directory to a new hosting company. We want to encourage you to log in and check out how you can use our database. This is the place we will be posting volunteer schedules for ministry areas, the church wide calendar and registration for events. It’s also your stop to find contact info for others at The Sanctuary.
Here’s how you can help:
- Go to https://cometothesanctuary.org/media/member-login/ . Click the link that says “Sign Up” to create a user name and password. (This is a new database, so you should click “Sign Up” even if you had access to the old system.)
- Check your personal info and your family info to make sure everything is up to date.
- Upload a profile photo.
We are in the process of updating all of our ministry groups so you can use the online directory to check your serving schedules. If your ministry area is complete, you will see it listed under “groups.” You will find the new database much more user friendly than the one we used in the past!
PASTOR APPRECIATION
October is Pastor Appreciation month! If you would like to give our pastors a word of encouragement or a gift, please feel free to drop it in the baskets at the Info Table before or after service anytime during the month of October. This is a great time to let Pastor Ronn and Pastor Ben know how much we love and appreciate them.
CELEBRATION OF LIGHT
It can be hard to know how to bridge cultures to share the love of Christ. If you have neighbors, friends or colleagues who are Hindu, or if you have people in your life that need to hear about Jesus coming into the world as light to overcome darkness, here is a chance to invite them to an event celebrating the light of Christ through a holiday called Diwali. Nick and Jamie Howard and Tony and Tintu George are hosting the event at 6 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Community Room at The Sanctuary. The evening will include an explanation of what the holiday means traditionally to Hindus, along with a Christian response to the concept of light entering the world to conquer darkness. Beyond all that, it’s just fun: Don’t miss the fireworks and good food! Invite your friends, neighbors and coworkers who know about Diwali, want to learn about it, or just want to have some fun. Contact for more info.
HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
We are excited to be able to host Hope for the Holidays, our fair trade holiday shopping bazaar, here at The Sanctuary on Nov. 23. Give the gift that gives twice when you shop for handcrafted items from 30 countries! Hope for the Holidays will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Invite your friends for unique gifts, live music and chocolate tasting. Please contact for more info.
LEADERSHIP COMMUNITY
If you are a volunteer in any ministry area at The Sanctuary, please make plans to attend Leadership Community 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 24 in the Community Room. This will be an awesome time to come together to learn more about our vision, build leadership skills and huddle with our ministry teams. Childcare is available for children birth to preschool.
YOUTH
Thrive and Crossfire, our junior high and high school ministries, are in full swing! Both groups meet together for student-led worship and large group teaching, then break off by age groups for small group discussion. Thrive and Crossfire meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Students are welcome to arrive at 6:30 for hang-out time.
NEED PRAYER?
If you have a prayer request, please feel free to send it to our Prayer Team so they can lift up your needs before the Lord. Contact with your prayer request.
