We all have experienced moments in our lives in which we wondered if there is something more going on than what we see. Is there a spiritual world? And if there is, should we be afraid or ignore it? Ephesians 6:12 explains it this way: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Join us this Sunday as we launch the second part of our “Vintage Jesus” series. We’ll examine the power Jesus has in “Overcoming the Darkness” as we continue our study of the book of Mark.

LUNCH WITH THE PASTORS
If you are new to The Sanctuary, make plans to join us for Lunch with the Pastors right after second service on June 4. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our mission and vision, get to know Pastor Ronn and Pastor John and, of course, enjoy lunch together. Childcare will be provided. GLUTEN FREE COMMUNION
The last Sunday of each month, we take communion together as a church body. If you are gluten free, we offer wafers that are individually wrapped to prevent cross contamination with the rest of the communion bread. If you need a gluten free wafer, please feel free to take one from the back table in the auditorium as you enter or walk back as the elements are passed.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY
Have you ever questioned your ability to pray? Do you wonder if you are doing it “right” or if there is something more to prayer than meets the eye? Join us this summer for a six-week study on prayer. We will be working through the study guide for The Daniel Prayer: Prayer that Moves Heaven and Changes Nations by Anne Graham Lotz. The study will begin June 14 from 9:30 to 11a.m. in the Community Room.  Please let us know if you will need childcare. An evening session may become available if there is enough interest. VBS
Hey, kids! You are invited to an exciting week of Vacation Bible School July 31 to Aug. 4! At Ocean Commotion, kids will dive deep into the account of Noah and the Flood from the book of Genesis! They’ll learn to apply the spiritual lessons from Noah’s life to their own. And, along the way, they’ll get to dig into the science behind the Flood through exciting science experiments! Each day will include crafts, games, music, snacks and fun with friends! VBS is open to children ages 4 to 10. Cost is $15, which includes a t-shirt. SERVING OPPORTUNITY
If you are looking for an easy and meaningful way to serve in our community, sign up to partner with Morningstar Mission. We have the opportunity to help serve dinner to those without homes on June 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and June 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. Sign up at the Info Table.

JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL
Our junior high and high school ministries meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays for student-led worship, large group teaching, small group discussion and tons of FUN! Feel free to arrive at 6:30 for hangout time.

June 5: Summer Kick-Off
Student Life will welcome incoming sixth graders, and new freshmen will move up to high school! Families will serve together at Power Connection, followed by food, prayer and worship.

June 6-8: Discover Youth Camp
Discover your gifts and talents during this three-day camp, June 6-8. Whether you love sports, music, art, dance, construction or working behind the scenes, you don’t want to miss Discover, a summer camp just for junior high and high school students! Each day will include worship, teaching, hang-out time, snacks and workshops to help you learn more about your creative gifts. Cost is $5.

June 26: Beyond These Walls: Students will pray before heading to a park with sports gear and other activities. We will encourage students to engage and pray with others they might meet there.
