The Slice: New sermon series begins Sunday
NEW SERMON SERIES BEGINS SUNDAY
Just as our genetic code determines how we are wired as unique individuals, our church also has its own DNA. Come find out more about what makes us who we are as a church, as we kick off 2014 with a new sermon series, “The Code,” beginning Jan. 5.
FUSION
If you have started attending The Sanctuary in the last three to six months and you are ready to get connected, join us for Fusion, beginning in February. This six-week class will cover the basics of what we believe, help you find your fit and give you more info on who we are as a church. Fusion will meet 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sundays in the Community Room. Please sign up at the Info Table or RSVP here if you plan to attend.
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
If you are looking to make changes in how you handle your finances, be sure to sign up for the Financial Peace University class. We will offer the class at two times, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays (beginning Jan. 27) and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays (beginning Feb. 1). Cost for the course is $93 per couple and includes a workbook, materials and access to the Financial Peace University web site. If cost is an issue, we do have a few scholarships available. Sign up at the Info Table or using the tear-off section in The Slice by Jan. 12. If you already signed up, please bring your payment for the class by Jan. 12.
BAPTISMS
If you have been thinking about publicly proclaiming your faith through baptism, mark your calendar for Feb. 2. We will have our first baptism service since moving into our new church home. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and you would like to be baptized, please sign up at the Info Table. Baptisms will be part of our regular morning worship services at 9:30 and 11 a.m.
KREW NIGHT!
All fourth and fifth grade students are invited to KREW’s Movie and Fun night at 5-9 p.m. January 10 in the Community Room! Invite your friends for food, games, candy, and surprises! Bring your pillow and sleeping bag to stay comfortable during the movie. Please RSVP by Jan. 7 through our online church calendar (CCB) or contact .
H2O
Heart Haven Outreach, a faith-based group that provides mentoring and support to teens, will be expanding into Romeoville in the new year. H2O will be meeting in the community room at The Sanctuary on Monday nights. This ministry has been serving students at Bolingbrook High School for the last 10 years. YOUTH
Thrive and Crossfire, our junior high and high school ministries, are taking a break during the holidays. Their next meeting will be 7-8:30 p.m. Jan. 15.
Please pray for our youth as they attend Winter Xtreme at Camp TimberLee! Thrive will be attending Jan. 10-12 and Crossfire will be there Jan. 24-26.
