The Slice: Come to our Eve of Christmas Eve service!
Remember to invite your friends and family to celebrate with us at our Eve of Christmas Eve services at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 23. We would love everyone to bring a plate of cookies to share so we can enjoy dessert together after the services! This will be a great evening that includes Christmas music and a relevant Biblical message. Invitations are available at the Info Table. Childcare will be available for birth to preschool.
CLINIC AMBUSH
Thank you so much to everyone who was part of the “Divine Ambush” of the Bolingbrook Christian Health Center on Sunday! Whether you donated presents for the gift mart, volunteered your time or prayed for the event, we appreciate your involvement! It was an awesome evening for people from different backgrounds and cultures to worship together. More than 250 people heard the gospel message as part of the candlelight service, and 37 people came forward to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. The clinic also was able to give out about more than 350 gifts to families through the gift mart.
ONE SERVICE DEC. 29
As we wrap up the year 2013, we will worship together at one service the last Sunday of the year! Join us at 10 a.m. for a great morning of worship, and the final message in the Divine Ambush series. We will have KidsTown for birth to third grade.
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
If you are looking to make changes in how you handle your finances, be sure to sign up for the Financial Peace University class, which will begin in late January. We will offer the class at two times, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays (beginning Jan. 27) and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays (beginning Feb. 1). Cost for the course is $93 per couple and includes a workbook, materials and access to the Financial Peace University web site. If cost is an issue, we do have a few scholarships available. Sign up at the Info Table or using the tear-off section in The Slice by Jan. 12. If you already signed up, please bring your payment for the class by Jan. 12.
LOST AND FOUND
We have a growing collection of items in our lost and found box, including a few winter coats! Please take a minute to check the blue bin, which is located by the coffee bar. After Dec. 29, all unclaimed items will be donated.
DIVINE AMBUSH
We want to shine a light in our community as we spread love, give joy and ultimately share the love of Jesus with our friends, neighbors, coworkers, teachers and even complete strangers. We want to encourage everyone in our church to be part of the Divine Ambush conspiracy of kindness by “ambushing” someone. If you haven’t had a chance to participate yet, it’s not too late! It doesn’t matter what you do or how you do it. Bake some cookies. Buy someone’s drink in the drive-thru. Send a note of encouragement. Pick up some “Divine Ambush” cards at the Info Table to include with whatever you do. If you have a story to share, please post it on the web site, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram or with #divineambush.
