With just a few days left before Easter, our staff and volunteers are busy preparing two services to reflect on the amazing sacrifice Jesus made to bring us salvation and the greatest day in history, Resurrection Sunday!
We welcome you to join us at our Good Friday service at 7 p.m. at Alpha Baptist Church. If you attended our Ash Wednesday service, please bring back the rocks that you received that evening. We will be using those as part of an illustration during the service.
We will have childcare available for children from birth to age 3. Please click here for an e-vite you can send to your friends.
Then, join us at 10 a.m. Easter Sunday at Bolingbrook High School as we celebrate God who is STRONGER. This will be a Family Sunday, with childcare available for children from birth to 3. Click here to send an e-vite to your friends and family.
We have a few other reminders for you this week:
SANCTUARY SOFTBALL
The Sanctuary softball team will be getting back into full swing in May. Players who are at least 15 years old are welcome to join the team. Please contact Bill Reimer, Jr., or sign up at the Welcome Table on Sunday. Games are played on weeknights at Jamie McGee Elementary School in Bolingbrook.
PARENTAL ADVISORY SUGGESTED
Beginning May 1, we will be starting a new sermon series looking at what God says about sex. We want parents to be aware of the content of this series so you will not be surprised if you have children or teens who might attend the worship service with you.
The first message in the EXpliSit series will be titled, “Satan’s lies to teens.” We would encourage students in junior high and high school to attend this service, but we also want parents to be aware they should be ready for some candid conversation afterward. The language used in the message will be straightforward and will not be watered-down for younger kids.
On May 15, the sermon will be on “Satan’s lies to singles” and on May 22, the message will be on “Satan’s lies to couples.” If parents prefer their teens are NOT in the service during these weeks, students can volunteer to serve in our KidsTown ministry. Please contact Pastor Ben Wangler to arrange a spot for them to serve.
Mother’s Day falls in the middle of the series. Because we know many people will be inviting their moms or other guests to church that day, this will be a Mother’s Day message.
Use our e-vites to invite your friends to church during this series!
NEW DIRECTORY
The new church directory is finished! You can pick one up from the Welcome Table on Sunday morning. Please feel free to take one per family.
BIKER BLESSING
On May 15, we are inviting all of our motorcycle-loving friends to attend our 10 a.m. service. Right after the service, Pastor Ronn will pray over our guests, and we will have refreshments in the parking lot.
JUSTICE AND COMPASSION
The Justice and Compassion ministry is starting a rotating schedule of monthly events to give us more opportunities to show our passion for compassion. Check out the blog for all of the details.
Mark your calendars for “Tend the Garden,” a spring clean-up day at 9 a.m. April 30. We will be cleaning up some local parks in Bolingbrook and loving our community while tending to God’s creation! We will meet at St. Francis Park behind Walgreens on Boughton Road for donuts and refreshments before heading out. Maps will be available at the Welcome Table on Sunday. Questions? Email Cheryl Lynn at . You can use our e-vite to invite your friends.
